How can you offer hosting for free?
We ask all hostees to place an ad code on every page of their site which will display an advertising banner. This helps to pay for our server costs.

How many banners will I have to show on my site?
You are asked to display one banner on every page of your site.

Can I get custom ad colours?
To request custom ad colours to match your site design, please post in our support forums with hex html color codes for your link colour, text colour and background colour.

Will you put popup advertising on my site?
No, we wll never put any popups on your site, ever. We hate those things, and believe most visitors do too.

Can I put my own advertising on the site?
Unfortunately no, we do not permit any advertising on the site except our own.

How long does it take to be approved?
We generally approve/decline applications within 24-48 hours. You should receive a response to your application within this time frame.

How long do I have to set my site up?
You will be given one week from account approval to bring your site live. Any fansites not open within 7 days will be automatically deleted. Unfortunately no extensions will be granted.

What happens if I am reaching my bandwidth and/or diskspace quotas?
Please contact us to have your account upgraded. The process is quick and seamless. You might be requested to place a larger advertising banner to help offset the increased usage.

How do I get a free domain name?
Free domain names for hostees are subject to several criteria. Please read the Free Domain Names page for more details.

Will you host my design site?
Certainly. Though you must be a current hostee with an active fan site. We provide this as a favor to hostees as no ad codes are required on a design site.

How many fan sites can I have?
You may have as many fansites as you believe you can comfortably handle, though you must apply seperately for each fansite.

Can I host other sites under my account?
Unfortunately no, hostees are not permitted to host any other sites under their account. There should be no reason you need to do so, as you can simply submit another hosting application.

How do I apply for a domain that is available for adoption?
In order to adopt an available domain name, you will need to contact us for pre-approval first with an example of your web design skills. This should ideally be a site that you are already running.

 

Domains with no existing content: Once pre-approval has been granted, the domain will be reserved for you for a period of 1 week, in which time you will need to fully design and code your new site. Once done, you should then post your hosting application in the normal fashion.

 

Domains with existing content: If the domain name you would like to adopt already has content, then once you have received pre-approval you should post a hosting application in our forums(leaving the working example blank). You will then be given the login details to the site.

So what does FAQ mean exactly?
